Watch: Influencer breaks down in tears after trolls make fun of son’s name

Liana Jade's emotional response to criticism of her baby name

An influencer and mother sobbed to fans online as she spoke about trolls attacking her new baby’s unique name.

Liana Jade and partner Connor excitedly shared the news of their newborn baby and his name, Koazy, last July.

However, things took a turn when the internet didn’t share the love for their son’s name.

Liana posted a TikTok crying to her followers saying people were criticising the name after watching The Unplanned Podcast by American YouTubers Matt and Abby.

The pair were discussing unusual names calling them “ridiculous” and “out of control”.

They did not directly address the name Koazy but it was brought up in their comments section, which spiralled into a bigger discussion criticising the name.

Liana shared her thoughts in an emotional video to eight million followers saying the Youtube couple had been discussing how “ridiculous some of these new unique names are”.

In the clip, Abby says “I’m gonna be honest with you, it does kind of bug me some of the names that are out there nowadays…You know your child is going to grow up, be an adult and potentially work in a professional setting.”

Since Liana’s video addressing the criticism, Matt and Abby have disabled the comments section on their YouTube video.

In the video, Liana said the origin of the name had been taken out of context with people saying they named him Koazy after being “cozy in the womb”.

She confirmed this was not the case and that they had already decided on the name prior to her being visibly pregnant.

“It’s really upset me. I knew everyone wasn’t going to love the name but it’s just different when there’s this comments section open on a big influencer’s video of people, fully grown adults, just sat there slandering my baby’s name.”

Influencer Molly Mae Hague, who is also a new mother, responded to the incident with support.

“All that matters is that you and your partner love the name!”

The tweet received 34,000 likes with more positive comments now flooding in.
