A truck driver is stranded on top of his submerged vehicle after it crashed into the Hutt River.
A police spokesperson said they received a report of a truck in the Hutt River in Heretaunga at around 10:30am on Thursday.
“The driver has climbed out himself and is on top of the cab, [with] no apparent injuries.”
In a tweet, Waka Kotahi said the crash is disrupting traffic heading southbound.
“Please follow directions by emergency services and prepare to slow down on request.”
