A man has been arrested after stolen items including thousands of dollars worth of sneakers were burgled from a Dunedin home.
The burglar took seven pairs of Nike Air Jordans valued at $2500 from a student flat on St David St on Saturday, according to a report from Stuff.
But after listing them on Facebook Marketplace, the victim identified them and arranged to meet him at his home address. But police went instead, Stuff said.
A police spokesperson told Newshub officers arrested a man and recovered stolen goods, including sneakers. The 37-year-old was charged with burglary and shoplifting and was expected to appear in the Dunedin District Court on Monday.
Police have not ruled out laying additional charges.
