Police have launched a homicide investigation after a man was found dead down a bank in Whakatāne on Thursday.
Police were called to Matahi Valley Road on June 1 where they found the body. Cordons remain in place as they carry out a scene examination and make enquiries.
“Anyone with information which could assist police is asked to get in touch via our 105 phone service and reference event number P054846261,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Wilson, Eastern Bay of Plenty CIB.
“Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.”
