Two Auckland businesses were raided by burglars overnight who took several items.
In South Auckland, thieves smashed their way into Brownsons Jewellers, stealing an unknown amount of jewellery.
Police responded to the burglary in Royal Oak Mall at around 1:16am on Thursday, a spokesperson said.
“They discovered four offenders had smashed their way into the main entrance of the mall and had then broken into the jewellery shop through a window, where they smashed cabinets and stole an unknown amount of jewellery,” the spokesperson said.
The same shop was hit in July 2022 when offenders left with tens of thousands of dollars worth of jewellery.
Later in the morning, a Mobil service station was burgled by four thieves.
Police were called to the scene on Massey Rd in Mangere at around 3:07am on Thursday.
The spokesperson said four people broke into the building and stole the till and cigarettes before leaving in a vehicle.
It is unknown if the burglaries are linked.
